As one of the multiple post-baccalaureate programs offered at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉäy, the post-bacc pre-medical program provides future physicians with the foundational coursework, standardized test preparation and real-world experience necessary for a successful medical school application.

If you have completed a baccalaureate program in any discipline and now wish to fulfill science requirements for medical school, then the post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Rockhurst is for you.
Learning outcomes
- Students in Rockhurst’s pre-med post-bacc program receive the quality science education and academic advising needed to pursue a career path in health sciences such as medicine, dentistry or as a physician assistant.
- Students receive education in fundamental areas including general biology, general chemistry, physics, as well as organic chemistry.
Program Outcomes
- Successful students in the pre-med post-bacc program are granted a certificate of completion. A cumulative GPA of 3.3 must be maintained to continue in the program.
- Graduates are prepared to continue their education in the health care industry; a high-demand, lucrative career path.

- Students in the pre-med post-bacc program develop individual plans with academic advisor and program director Laura Salem, Ph.D. Advising meetings take place every semester ensuring students meet their medical school requirements.
- Pre-med post-bacc program students have the opportunity to shadow physicians, participate in clinical volunteering and interview with the Rockhurst pre-health advisory committee to receive feedback on application materials before submitting their medical school applications.
Rockhurst and Kansas City University have partnered to offer Rockhurst post-baccalaureate students a seat in KCU's medical (DO), dental (DMD) or anesthesiologist assistant (MHS-AA) program.
- Students will complete 24 credit hours of science coursework at RU, 15 of which must be upper-division
- A 3.5 GPA must be maintained for this coursework
- An MCAT score of 505 must be attained (or a DAT score of 18)
- Pending an interview with RU and KCU faculty members, students will gain acceptance to the DO, DMD, or MHS-AA program at KCU
- Students will concurrently be accepted into the RU MBA for healthcare leadership
